At lunch time on 11th November, following the Remembrance Day service, nearly 90 people gathered in Hoby & District village hall for the final First World War Centenary Celebration Lunch. Our 2018 version of the “meat tea” Hoby laid on nearly 100 years ago following the service to dedicate the War Memorial, proved to be a fitting end to the many community events that have commemorated the centenary of the First World War. A very big thank you to everyone who participated in the commemorations, in whatever way, during the last four years.
